Lacy has been fooling herself for years. She'd nearly convinced herself she's happy with just being Dan's friend, but as they've begun drifting apart she's realized she's losing more than just her best friend.
**Author's Note In the spirit of full disclosure, this is a short story-a tad under 1700 words. I think it's still an enjoyable read and worth the $.99, but I wouldn't want anyone to be surprised at its brevity. I've added in an extract from my upcoming novel, Torn, as a bonus.

I like a good short story, sometimes you don't need 200 pages, however when you purchase a story for even as little as .99 and it takes you literally 5minutes or less to read it is WAY TO SHORT to waste your money on. I liked what I read which is the sad part, it could have been great if it had been more than basically a book jacket. :(Product details

Absence eBook Dean Murray Reviews
This is an atmospheric, beautifully-rendered short story which treats its central character with great sympathy, and involves the reader in her dilemma. I also liked the author's depiction of winter, and how this could be seen as an allegory for the protagonist's emotions. The ending leaves the story open for further instalments, but the story in and of itself is highly satisfying.
